Description
A quick and easy marinara sauce that can be made in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients

- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
- Add diced onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine.
- Bring to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in fresh basil and sugar before serving.
Notes
- Pair with your favorite pasta or use as a pizza sauce.
- This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- Freezes well for up to 3 months.
