Description

A quick and easy marinara sauce that can be made in just 30 minutes.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sugar


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
  2. Add diced onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine.
  5. Bring to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Stir in fresh basil and sugar before serving.
