This Baked Turkish Pizza is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that captures the flavors of traditional Turkish cuisine.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 pound ground lamb or beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, and yeast. Gradually add warm water and olive oil to form a dough. Knead for 10 minutes.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- In a skillet, sauté the onion until translucent. Add the ground meat, tomatoes, parsley, paprika, black pepper, and cumin. Cook until the meat is browned.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the dough and place it on a baking sheet. Spread the meat mixture evenly over the dough.
- Brush the edges with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the pizza is golden brown.
- Slice and serve hot.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the meat mixture.
- Can be served with yogurt on the side for dipping.
