- 1 cup saltine crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange saltine crackers in a single layer.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar, stirring until combined. Bring to a boil and cook for 3 minutes.
- Pour the butter mixture over the crackers, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let sit for a few minutes and spread the melted chocolate into an even layer.
- Top with chopped nuts if desired. Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
- For a variation, try adding peppermint extract or swapping white chocolate for milk chocolate.
