- 12 lasagna noodles (uncooked)
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
- 12 ounces ricotta cheese
- 1 large egg
- 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add crushed tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, and a pinch of salt.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a baking dish. Layer lasagna noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella, and meat sauce. Repeat layers, finishing with mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
- Cover with foil, bake for 25 minutes, remove foil, and bake for another 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for 15 minutes before slicing. Serve and enjoy!
