- 2 cups water or milk
- 1 cup cooked and mashed butternut squash
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup (optional)
- 1/4 cup walnuts (chopped)
- 1/4 cup raisins or cranberries
Instructions
- In a saucepan, bring water or milk to a boil.
- Add rolled oats and reduce heat to low. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the mashed butternut squash, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- If desired, stir in maple syrup for sweetness.
- Remove from heat and let sit for a minute before serving.
- Top with walnuts and raisins or cranberries as desired.
Notes
- For a creamier texture, use milk instead of water.
- Add more spices to taste if desired.
