Description

Light and airy cheese puffs, perfect as an appetizer or snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup grated cheese (Gruyère or similar)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a saucepan, bring water and butter to a boil.
  3. Remove from heat, then stir in flour until it forms a ball.
  4. Allow to cool slightly, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in cheese, salt, and cayenne.
  6. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until puffed and golden.
