Description
A traditional Mexican drink made with rice, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon.
Ingredients

- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 5 cups water
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Soak the rice in 2 cups of water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Blend the soaked rice with the soaking water until smooth.
- Strain the mixture through a fine sieve into a pitcher.
- Add the remaining water, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
- Serve over ice and enjoy!
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use almond milk instead of regular milk.
- Horchata can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
