Description
A traditional Irish dish made with mashed potatoes and cabbage or kale.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds potatoes
- 1/2 head green cabbage, chopped
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
Instructions
- Peel and chop the potatoes. Boil in a large pot until tender.
- While the potatoes are cooking, sauté the cabbage in butter until soft.
- Drain the potatoes and mash with milk, butter, salt, and pepper.
- Fold in the sautéed cabbage and green onions.
- Serve hot with additional butter on top.
Notes
- This dish can be made with either kale or cabbage.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
