This rich and creamy chocolate hazelnut ice cream is perfect for chocolate lovers.
Ingredients

- 1 cup hazelnuts, toasted and skinned
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 6 large egg yolks
- 1 cup bittersweet chocolate, melted
Instructions
- In a blender, blend the hazelnuts until smooth.
- In a saucepan, heat the cream, milk, sugar, and salt over medium heat until warm.
- Whisk the egg yolks in a bowl, then slowly add the warm cream mixture.
- Return to the saucepan and cook until thickened.
- Stir in the melted chocolate and hazelnut puree.
- Chill the mixture, then churn in an ice cream maker according to manufacturer’s instructions.
- Transfer to a container and freeze until firm.
Notes
- For a smoother texture, strain the mixture before churning.
- Can be served with chopped hazelnuts on top.
