Description

A delightful Italian dessert featuring a rich fig filling in a buttery crust.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup fresh figs, chopped
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add softened butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla, mixing until a dough forms.
  5. Press the dough into a tart pan, covering bottom and sides.
  6. In another bowl, mix chopped figs, honey, and lemon juice.
  7. Pour the fig mixture into the prepared crust.
  8. Bake for about 30-35 minutes until the crust is golden and the figs are bubbly.
  9. Allow to cool before serving.
