- 2 pounds potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet)
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Peel and cut the potatoes into quarters.
- Boil the potatoes in a large pot of salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
- Add the garlic-butter mixture and heavy cream to the potatoes.
- Mash until smooth and creamy, adding more cream if necessary.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add roasted garlic instead of sautéed garlic.
- These mashed potatoes can be made ahead of time and reheated.
