Description

These creamy garlic mashed potatoes are the perfect comfort food, rich in flavor and easy to make.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet)
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Peel and cut the potatoes into quarters.
  2. Boil the potatoes in a large pot of salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant.
  4. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
  5. Add the garlic-butter mixture and heavy cream to the potatoes.
  6. Mash until smooth and creamy, adding more cream if necessary.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add roasted garlic instead of sautéed garlic.
