Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the dish, followed by half of the sliced apples.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper, cooking for about 2 minutes.
- Gradually whisk in the milk and cream, cooking until the sauce thickens.
- Pour half of the sauce over the first layer of potatoes and apples.
- Repeat layering with the remaining potatoes, apples, and sauce.
- Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake for 45-60 minutes until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
