These Homemade Cheddar Biscuits are incredibly flaky and bursting with cheesy goodness, perfect for breakfast or as a side dish.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add cold, cubed butter and cut it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in shredded cheddar cheese.
- Add buttermilk and mix until just combined.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead a few times.
- Roll out the dough to about 1-inch thickness and cut into rounds.
- Place on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- For extra flaky biscuits, handle the dough as little as possible.
- Make sure your butter is very cold for best results.
- These biscuits are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for 2 days.
