Description

Crispy and flavorful Korean Fried Chicken, coated in a spicy and sweet sauce, perfect for a savory meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Dip the chicken wings in water, then coat them in the flour mixture.
  3. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Fry the chicken wings until golden brown and crispy, about 10-15 minutes.
  5. In a separate saucepan, mix gochujang, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Heat until combined.
  6. Coat the fried chicken wings in the sauce.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with pickled radish for a traditional pairing.
  • Adjust the spiciness of the sauce by adding more or less gochujang.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated.
