- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Dip the chicken wings in water, then coat them in the flour mixture.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the chicken wings until golden brown and crispy, about 10-15 minutes.
- In a separate saucepan, mix gochujang, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Heat until combined.
- Coat the fried chicken wings in the sauce.
- Garnish with sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- Serve with pickled radish for a traditional pairing.
- Adjust the spiciness of the sauce by adding more or less gochujang.
- Can be made ahead and reheated.
