Description

Soft and fluffy buns packed with savory scallions and topped with sesame seeds.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped scallions
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water and yeast; let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add sugar, salt, and vegetable oil; mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour, kneading until smooth.
  4. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  5. Punch down the dough and roll it out.
  6. Spread chopped scallions on the dough and roll it up.
  7. Cut into pieces, place on a baking sheet, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 15-20 minutes.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add garlic to the scallion mixture.
  • These buns are best served warm.
