Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup applesauce
  • 1/4 cup almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, and baking soda.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together applesauce, almond milk, vanilla, and eggs.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  5. Fold in the dark chocolate chips.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool before serving.
